About the Job
This position provides Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for the fire program functions within the
Terminal, Transport & Rail (TT&R) segment of the business. The fire program support will include
ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards. This position will drive
improvement in fire protection at TT&R facilities and operations, community partnerships, and industry
activity. This requires effective collaboration with other Health, Environment, Safety & Security
Professionals, Management, SME’s in other MPC Organizations, First Responders, Regulators, and
selected Contractors. This position will also serve as the SME on general fire questions for TT&R and
work to ensure fire programs are effectively addressing fire-related risks. This position will be located in
Findlay, Ohio. This position will involve a significant amount of travel, including overnight travel,
throughout TT&R’s operating areas.
The duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
• Oversee compliance with International Fire Code, State, Local and other fire regulations.
• Apply DOT, NFPA, Federal RMP, OSHA standards to inspections, operations, programs and
projects.
• Develop, maintain, and update TT&R compliance with MPC standards.
• Develop and execute fire strategy commensurate with and responsive to risk.
• Analyze fire program, incidents, risk tool and evaluate possible changes to fire program and
projects.
• Evaluate and identify cost-saving opportunities within the fire program.
• Receive, track and communicate fire suppression system impairments and see Major Equipment
Deficiencies (MEDs) to completion.
• Support management of change (MOC) process in review of MOCs as required.
• Participate and support Tier I and Tier II audits.
• Develop, administer, and track annual TT&R fire program budget.
• Serve as Liaison/Fire SME in emergency response ICS structure.
• Deploy, exercise, and maintain Logistics & Storage portable emergency response fire assets and
equipment.
• Collaborate with MPC components to drive integrated fire responses.
• Provide bulk storage, flammable liquid, fuel & LPG transport, and marine fire training to local first
responders and industry partners.
• Build partnerships with public agencies and first responders which cultivate response efficiencies.
• Provide guidance, track completion and compliance requirements for Tier I & II fire exercises.
• Maintain and provide updates to the Fire Emergency Response Action Plans.
• Implement Logistics & Storage incipient fire training program.
Requirements

Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Fire or a related field is preferred. A municipal or industrial fire chief with a
minimum of 5 years of related experience is preferred. The ability to travel 50-60% of the time and
proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required.
